RE: Future of MBU: Fall Campus Visit Day
Future of MBU: Fall Campus Visit Day
October 11, 2005

Kirstin Johnson of Florissant, Mo. talks with a staff member at MBU’s fall Campus Visit Day.
With an array of questions and a tinge of excitement, Kirstin Johnson of Florissant, Mo. casually chatted with students, faculty and staff at Missouri Baptist University’s fall Campus Visit Day this past Monday, Oct. 10.
Longing to find the perfect college experience, the senior at Westminster Academy arrived at MBU for the Campus Visit day with a host of questions. She left with a multitude of answers and a heightened level of enthusiasm about the plethora of opportunities available at MBU.
“I love music,” said Kirstin shortly after listening to several of MBU’s performance groups. “I am really impressed with the musical groups here. It really makes me want to get involved in the music program.”
Alongside a multitude of other prospective students, Kirstin was one of more than 200 people who made their way to MBU’s main campus--located a quarter a mile west of the intersection of highways 270 and 40–in an effort to learn more about MBU at the bi-annual event.
“It is awesome to know that many of the students who attended this Campus Visit Day will be the leaders of MBU,” said Terry Dale Cruse, director of admissions. “Students at this University grow tremendously, both academically and spiritually, during their time here. Campus Visit Day gives us the opportunity to get to know these students at the very beginning of their MBU journey. And that’s exciting, because they are the truly the future of MBU.”
From learning about the facets of the financial aid and admission process to taking in breathtaking performances by MBU’s exceptional performance groups and touring the University’s West County campus, prospective students and their families spent a hands-on morning learning about the benefits of MBU. Campus groups, organizations, and academic divisions held a comprehensive information fair where visitors explored the University’s various academic and extracurricular possibilities.
In addition, regular admission fees were waived for all prospective students who submitted their application for admission during the event. The spring Campus Visit Day is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon.
