Faculty and Staff Honored for Years of Service

September 1, 2005

Several MBU faculty and staff members were honored at the start of the fall 2005 semester for years of service to the University.

The following employees were recognized for five years of service:
Employees recognized for five years of service included Mr. Jim Bimes, professor of education; Dr. Holly Brand, professor of psychology; Ms. Kelly Brent, head softball coach; Ms. Iris Dixon, instructor of health and sport sciences, assistant women's basketball coach, and assistant sports information director; Mr. Jared Embick, head women's soccer coach; Mrs. Stephanie Fujarski, transcript evaluator; Ms. Mary Ellen Fuquay, director of EXCEL and instructor of English; Mrs. Kym Grannemann, athletics media information coordinator; Mr. Jon Hessel, resident director; Mr. Iouri Kostine , director of database administration; Ms. Sandra Moore, instructor of accounting and business administration; Mrs. Georgia Moreland, fiscal operations and technology coordinator for the MBU St. Clair Extension Center; Mr. Doug Morris, assistant director of EXCEL; Mrs. Carolyn Scott, administrative assistant to the Jefferson College Plus-Two Program; and Mr. Ben Stearn, senior network technician.

For ten years of service, Ms. Joan Beeman, acquisition librarian; Mrs. Krista Huse, administrative assistant to the Vice President of Student Development; Dr. R. Alton Lacey, president; and Mrs. Pat Lacey, professor of music were recognized.

Mr. John Freeman, graduate field site coordinator at Jefferson College; and Mr. Lowell Pitzer, professor of health and sport sciences, were recognized for fifteen years of service.

Dr. JoAnn Miller was also recognized for twenty years of service to University. During her tenure, Dr. Miller has served the institution in roles including Assistant Academic Dean, Director of Teacher Education, Education Division Chair, and finally as Executive Director of Constituent Relations. Dr. Miller and her husband, Robert, both retired during the summer months and were presented rocking chairs bearing the MBU seal as a token of the University’s appreciation for their years of dedicated service.
