Women's Lacrosse Coach Named
May 3, 2005
Missouri Baptist University has appointed Coach Pamela Goode as Head Women's Lacrosse. Coach Goode is a graduate of the University of Bridgeport (CT) with a BA in Political Science and the University of New Haven School of Business (CT) where she received her master's in Sports Management.
In 2003 Pamela began working in higher education at Yale University in Events Management. Since then she has served at Central Connecticut State University where she was Assistant to the Senior Associate Athletic Director and Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach. Coach Goode has also been the Head JV Basketball Coach at Valley Regional High School (CT) since 2004. Pamela played both Varsity Lacrosse and Basketball at the collegiate level.
Coach Goode will have the responsibility of leading a first year Varsity Lacrosse program at MBU. "I thank God for the opportunity to be the Head Coach at Missouri Baptist University. It is truly a blessing. I am very excited about building and developing the lacrosse team. I will work very hard to make the program a success. I am a competitor, so I plan to recruit the best athletic players who are academically strong, spiritually grounded with a sense of community involvement. These qualities will be our keys to success," said Goode in an interview.
In addition to women's lacrosse, the 2005 season will debut the women's varsity golf and men's varsity tennis programs. MBU currently boasts twenty-four NAIA varsity and junior varsity teams.
Coach Goode will bring her East Coast style of lacrosse to a Midwest city that has already embraced the sport. "I have already been recruiting. I am very encouraged to hear of the interest from recruits about the possibilities of competing at Missouri Baptist University," said Goode. "I am looking for student athletes that will be a fit with the program and the University. My philosophy is based on respect for God, the University, Coaches, teammates and trust in one another."
