The MBU Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) organization returned from regional competition in Chicago with five trophies and the title of regional champions April 11, 2005. By winning the regional championship, SIFE@MBU is ensured the opportunity to compete in the national SIFE competition held in Kansas City, Missouri, May 22 – 25, 2005.
Working together as a team and through the mentorship of Walton fellow and SIFE@MBU faculty advisor, Brenda Bradford, SIFE students apply their classroom experiences to develop and implement educational outreach programs that teach individuals in their communities the principles of market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial success and business ethics.
At the regional competition, SIFE@MBU presented their community outreach projects. In addition to winning the regional championship, SIFE@MBU was victorious in each of the sub-categories in which they competed. They were awarded first place in the following divisions:

The national champion will travel to Toronto, Canada, to compete at SIFE World Cup 2005 later this October.
“The team worked hard and made some major contributions in the name of MBU and as wonderful examples of Christ,” Bradford said. “They truly do stand as living examples of the MBU mission and our core values.”
