RE: MBU Movers “Go West!”
MBU Movers “Go West!”
June 8, 2004
Twenty-four participants made the journey from St. Louis to Yellowstone National Park, May 10-19, during the MBU Movers spring trip, “Go West, Young Man, Go West!” Both parents and grandparents of Missouri Baptist University alumni, along with donors and friends of the university, toured seven “Wild, Wild West” states.
The bi-annual event encompassed ten days of special events and attractions. The highlight of the trip included the presidential museums and homes of Dwight D. Eisenhower in Kansas and Harry Truman in Missouri.
In between snow storms at Mount Rushmore and the short-sleeved warmth of the Dakotas, the group toured Focus on the Family, Pikes Peak, the Garden of the Gods, Buffalo Bill Dam, and many additional sites.
“This was the best trip for the MBU Movers. The fantastic scenery was an inspiration. The mountains and lakes—we truly saw God’s wonderful handiwork,” says host Jo Ann Miller, executive director for MBU constituent relations.
Tentative plans for the next MBU Movers trip include the Dead Sea Scrolls of Mobile, AL.
