MBU Announces Two New Graduate Programs, Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts in Christian Ministry
April 27, 2004
Missouri Baptist University is introducing two new graduate programs this Fall, a Master in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry. The two programs offer a quality graduate degree at one of the most competitive tuition rates in the area. The MBA and MACM join the University’s Master of Science in Education which grew to an unprecedented 709 students in the first four years.
At MBU, the MBA program emphasizes the value of ethical management and leadership, answering one of America’s most urgent business needs of today. In addition to learning advanced procedures needed to enhance business practices, students will have the opportunity to study ethical strategies that will build profits, productivity and long-term success.
“Business leaders will find that MBU is a viable resource for qualified students with integrity. Our students are not only concerned with how much money they will make, but the kind of impact they will have on the world,” says Brenda Bradford, Chair of the Business Division and Assistant Professor of Business.
MBU’s business undergraduate program, second in popularity only to the nationally recognized education program, provides a foundation of quality for the future MBA program.
Compared to alternative MBA programs in the St. Louis region, Missouri Baptist University’s MBA has many advantages in convenience and affordability, with select courses offered both online and at four campus locations.
Not only does the program provide the most reasonable tuition rate in the area, but it also offers the most value; students transferring into the program from an outside institution may transfer twelve hours into the 36 hour program, and students have the opportunity to earn credit for their previous experience in business. Students holding a master’s degree in any field have the opportunity to earn their MBA by completing MBU’s core courses and capstone project, creating a fast-track to MBA degree completion.
In addition to the Master of Business Administration, Missouri Baptist University is providing the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry. The MACM is designed for bi-vocational pastors, lay leaders, church staff workers, professional Christian educators serving in both secondary and higher education, ministers seeking continuing education and individuals that desire a more informed perspective on faith and life.
The Master of Arts in Christian Ministry at MBU emphasizes the individualized degree with five program options in pastoral ministries, urban ministries, church planting, professional education, and biblical language.
“The MACM will pull some people out of the woodwork that see the 100 or more hours required for a master of divinity and are frightened by that, but can come and take the 39 hours of the Master of Christian Ministries and say, ‘That added value to me,’ and be encouraged to continue in their theological study.
I think that when someone in the church becomes more educated biblically, they will impact the kingdom of God and their individual churches. As an institution, the program allows a greater impact on the churches, which is part of MBU’s mission,” says Dr. Curtis McClain, Chair of the Humanities Division and Professor of Bible.
Courses for the MBA and the MACM are offered year-round and typically meet once a week for eights sessions. For more information about the degree programs or the graduate school at MBU, contact the graduate admissions staff at (314) 434-1115 or toll free at (888) 992-2346.
