RE: Acting Director of Admissions Appointed
Acting Director of Admissions Appointed
January 30, 2004
On January 29, Missouri Baptist University officially appointed Associate Director of Admissions, Jonathan Hessel, to the position of Acting Director. As Acting Director, Hessel will oversee and coordinate all recruiting efforts of the institution.
Hessel, an MBU alumnus, graduated in 2003 with a BS in Religious Education with an emphasis in Youth Ministry. He is a member of South County Baptist Church and serves in college ministry at Concord Church in South County St. Louis. Hessel plans to pursue his master degree at MBU this fall.
“I am very excited about the opportunity that this new role presents. I know having the great staff in admissions will make the transition that much easier,” says Hessel.
“Jon is very talented and under his capable leadership we will move forward in building our undergraduate program. This past year a record number of freshmen enrolled at the University and Jon was instrumental in making that happen,” says Keith Ross, Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
In November, the admissions department reported a total headcount increase of an unprecedented 14.6 percent over last year and FTE (Full Time Equivalency) figures revealed a 14 percent increase.
Vacating Director of Admissions, Rob Cornwell, will join the staff of Windermere Baptist Conference Center as Director of Sales and Marketing. Cornwell has served MBU for twelve years, eleven years in the admissions department. An MBU Business Administration graduate in 1988, Cornwell also served as director to Faithful, MBU’s female quartet, and as music minister at First Baptist Church of Godfrey.
“I am excited about the future as Windermere grows the camp, not just to serve Missouri, but also the entire Midwest region,” says Cornwell.
