MBU Appoints Key Positions: Director of Athletics, Director Of Admissions

On January 1, Missouri Baptist University appointed Rob Cornwell and Tom Smith to the positions of Director of Admissions and Director of Athletics, respectively. Both bring a wealth of experience and dedication to their positions.
Rob Cornwell has served MBU for eleven years. He oversees dual enrollment for all home school students and also assists with transition from dual enrollment program to full-time freshman student.
Cornwell, also the music minister at FBC Godfrey, earned his B.S. at MBU and directs Faithful, MBU’s newest ministry group.
Smith has served Missouri Baptist University for five years, previously as the Director of Admissions and Alumni Relations and currently as Head Wrestling Coach. He earned his B.A. in Business Management and Teaching Certification in Secondary Social Sciences from MBU. He has also completed an M.S. in Education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri.
Smith has been involved with wrestling since 1967. This year marks his sixteenth year of coaching wrestling, three years at the college level and thirteen at the high school level. He previously coached at the high school level at Lindbergh, DeSoto, Parkway South and Parkway West. He wrestled at the collegiate level at Southeast Missouri State University (NCAA Division II).
