At its November 21 meeting, the Missouri Baptist University Board of Trustees appointed officers and elected one new trustee to serve a three year term.

Bill Houk, elected to the position of chairman, is an Investment Advisor Representative for Bill Houk Agency, Inc., and a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton. Houk also serves as the Annuity Board Chair of the West Central Baptist Association. He is currently in his fifth year of service to the MBU board.

Gerald Rogers, elected vice president of the board, is a member of Southwest Baptist Church, St. Louis, and works an Insurance Broker for ISU Corporate Management. Rogers, elected to the board in 1999, is now serving his second three-year term.

MBU Board Secretary, Florence (Tillie) Mayse, is a member of First Baptist Church in Farmington. She is a retired educator and an MBU Alumni (1973). Mayse is now in her fifth year of service, currently serving her second three-year term.

Marshall Jung is a retired doctor from Cape Girardeau and a newly elected trustee. He attends Illmo Baptist Church and also serves as the Associate Budget Committee Chairman. Jung was formerly a member of the Charleston Baptist Association Budget Board.

At the meeting, MBU President R. Alton Lacey presented newly elected trustee, Trevor Reese, with a medallion commemorating his standing on the Board. Reese is an Investment Representative for Edward Jones and attends FBC Ellisville, and was elected to the Board at its regular meeting in August.

The board of trustees is comprised of twenty-seven members dedicated to the enrichment and advancement of the University. MBU board members serve three-year terms upon their election to the board; each member is eligible to be re-elected twice.
