MBU’S Soccer Coach Sets New Record in MBU History
November 11, 2002
Missouri Baptist University’s men’s soccer team’s win over McKendree on Wednesday November 6, 2002, put the team in the American Midwest Conference Regional-Play-In Semi Final against Hannibal LaGrange College. The win over McKendree not only kept the men’s season alive, but it proved to be yet another milestone for Coach Juan Favero.
The win marks the forty-second victory and a new career record with Coach Favero coaching the men’s soccer team. The 2002-2003 season is Favero’s fourth season at MBU and his career record stands currently at 42-30-6 in just four short seasons.
Coach Juan Pablo Favero was also named the American Midwest Conference Coach of the Year.
Directing the attention toward the team Favero states, “I would like to emphasize the teams and players I have coached here are the ones who deserve the credit, and most of all that God receives all the glory for any accomplishment I am blessed with as a coach.”
Favero and his dedicated staff have literally taken this program from the bottom of the conference to conference champions in 2001. Favero’s staff includes Assistant Coach Jared Embick and Graduate Assistant Coach Mark Burton.
Favero says “I have been blessed with an excellent staff of assistant coaches who deserve a lot of credit, especially Jared Embick who has been working relentlessly for the last three years.”
