Spring Musical: Carousel

The most poetic and lyrical of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musicals is coming back to the stage. Missouri Baptist College is presenting Carousel on April 5 and 6 in the new Missouri Baptist College Chapel/Fine Arts Building.

Set in the 1800’s, Carousel is a tale of a love affair between a traveling carnival barker and a local factory worker. Prior to the birth of their daughter, Billy, the carnival barker, is killed while committing a robbery. Years later, he is given the chance to come back to earth for his daughters graduation to teach her an important lesson.

Voted “Best Musical of the Century” by Time Magazine in 1999, Carousel helps us experience a miraculous power of love.

Evening performances on April 5 and 6 at 7:30 PM in the new Pillsbury Chapel and Dale Williams Fine Arts Center. Following the March dedication of this center, Carousel will be the first performance in the 965-seat auditorium. Located at Highway 270 and Highway 40, this is the Premier West County arts venue.
