RE: Dedication of MBC’s $10 M Chapel/Fine Arts Center
Dedication of MBC’s $10 M Chapel/Fine Arts Center
March 8, 2002
Missouri Baptist College will be dedicating the new $10 million Pillsbury Chapel & Dale Williams Fine Arts Center on March 22, 2002, at 6:30 PM. The ceremony, taking place at MBC’s West County campus, will be followed by a reception and musical series featuring the College’s premiere vocal and instrumental ensembles. The public is invited to attend.
The Center seats 965 guests and will be the College’s preferred location to host musicals, chapel services, special lectures, business seminars and other community events. Encompassing more than 58,000 square feet—more square feet than a football field—the Chapel & Fine Arts Center will be the largest building on the MBC campus and one of the most modern performance facilities in St. Louis. The Center incorporates gallery, instructional, and performance areas, providing a home for the growing undergraduate fine arts programs.
The Center is a gift to our students and community and represents a standard of excellence in performance and instructional facilities,” says President R. Alton Lacey. The building is acoustically designed for hosting concerts and lecturing facilities for constituents of MBC and the community.
MBC will recognize the Pillsbury Foundations as key benefactors in the Center’s Campaign. Mr. Joyce Pillsbury will speak publicly at the ceremony.
The architectural firm for this project is Wm. B. Ittner Inc. and the general contractor is L.A. Schaeffer Construction Co., Inc. Other contractors include Land Development Consultants, Jarrell Mechanical, Guarantee Electric, Ibrahim Engineering Corporation, Joseph W. Clapper, and Niemoeller Associates, Inc.
