The National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) elected its first slate of elected officers for two-year terms: President: Susan C. Harkins, University of Pittsburgh; Vice-President: Robert Meikle, Rhode Island College; Secretary: Mary Anna C. Dimitrakopoulos, Indiana University-South Bend; Treasurer: Donald C. Friday, Finger Lakes Community College; Member-at-large: William R. Newell, Syracuse University.
NACEP is an organization of American colleges and universities that offer college courses taught in partnering high schools to qualified high school students. The courses, taught by college-approved and appointed high school instructors, provide students the opportunity to earn college course credit while completing their high school graduation requirements. Concurrent enrollment partnerships also provide ongoing professional development for instructors who teach in the programs, as well as opportunities for research in the area of school/college articulation.
NACEP supports and promotes its constituent partners through quality initiatives, program development, national standards, research, and communication. The organization meets twice a year. Its next meeting will be held in conjunction with the American Association of Higher Education's annual conference in Washington, D.C.
Missouri Baptist College, Saint Louis University, and University of Missouri/ St. Louis are founding institutions of NACEP.
