MBC Sends Mission Team to Poland

With the recent Olympic festivities, we are reminded of how amazing it would be to live in a borderless world-a place where we could effortlessly travel and communicate with each other regardless of nationality.

This past summer in Ostroda, Poland, students from Missouri Baptist College and Belarus crossed these borders and combined their efforts to complete $30,000 of camp renovations. The team's mission was to restore the campgrounds so European Christians could come enjoy a place of fellowship and refuge. The twelve hours of daily construction altered the outward appearance of the grounds, but the true renovations were found within their co-laborers, the Belarusians.

Each of the eleven students from Belarus had battled the cancerous effects of the Chernobyl meltdown of 1986. All students were able to exchange smiles and encouragement, but Oksana Tukarchuck, an MBC junior and native to Russia, was able to break the language barrier. With Oksana translating and sharing the Word, the MBC team had the opportunity to see nine Belarusians come to salvation.

With approximately twenty-eight countries represented on campus and recent mission trips to Brazil, Spain, Poland, France, and Scotland, students are being exposed to the importance of global awareness.
