RE: Missouri Baptist College Fall Lecture Series
Missouri Baptist College Fall Lecture Series
October 3, 2000
Dr. Perry R. Sanders, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, Louisiana, was MBC's featured speaker for the Fall Lecture Series, September 26-28. Dr. Sander's and his wife, Kay, were actively involved during their three-day visit with chapel sermons, class lectures, and a campus wide reception.
Dr. Sander's brought a series of passionate messages including "The Impact of Being a World Changer" and "A Portrait of Christ".
According to Joseph CoStephens, senior at MBC, "His messages were applicable for both the Christian and the lost soul incorporating a bold challenge, Biblical backing, and humorous wit - an effective combination for a collegiate crowd."
During fifty-six years of ministry, Dr. Sanders' Southern Baptist involvement has been extensive. Under his thirty years of leadership at FBC Lafayette, the church has become one of the strongest in the Southern Baptist Convention. Dr. Sanders has also served as a trustee of the Southern Baptist Home, Foreign Mission Board, and Louisiana College and was the President of the Louisiana Baptist convention for two terms.
