Missouri Baptist College Expands Athletics Program

Missouri Baptist College's athletic department is growing. Starting this fall, the college will offer two new sports. A men's wrestling team is forming, and men and women will compete in cross-country running. Along with the new sports, the college is expanding two previously offered sports. Men's volleyball is being upgraded to a varsity level. The athletic department will now also accommodate cheerleading. Cross-country will compete at a varsity level. Wrestling will be a club sport in its first year. In Fall 2001, it will become a varsity sport. Scholarships are available for all athletic programs. Andrew Carter, Director of Athletics, was excited about the athletic department growth. "It would provide more opportunity for students to go to college and compete.
