RE: Carter Resigns As College Baseball Coach
Carter Resigns As College Baseball Coach
July 6, 1999
Andrew Carter, Missouri Baptist College head baseball coach of nine years, has officially resigned his coaching position following the 1999 season. Carter leaves the head coach position with 237/190 career wins, and a record 1999 season of 40/16. He led the Spartan baseball team to seven consecutive American Midwest Conference championship titles, and has been named “Coach of the Year” the past five years.
Carter will continue to serve as the Director of Athletics, a position he has held since 1997. Building upon the College’s recent growth, Carter will be introducing new varsity and junior varsity programs to the College’s current offering.
Numerous Spartan baseball players have been signed to professional contracts under Carter’s direction. Recently, two former MBC players, Terry Tripp, and Joe Pipes, have also signed with the River City Rascals, a St. Peters, MO, independent professional baseball league.
