NATO Officers to Speak at Missouri Baptist College
June 3, 1999
Two senior military officers from the NATO headquarters of Allied Atlantic (ACLANT) and Allied Command Europe (ACE) will address area media, civic, business, and educational groups concerning the current conflict in Kosovo. The forum will be held at Missouri Baptist College on June 8, 1999, at 7PM.
The team consists of an allied officer from each of NATO’s major military commands: German Navy Commander Werner Schmitt, from Allied Command, Atlantic in Norfolk, Va., and British Army Lieutenant Colonel Peter Reynolds from Allied Command Europe in Mons, Belgium. The team will address themes and issues relevant to the day:

NATO's future in the Post Cold War World
Partnership for Peace: Vision and Reality
NATO's role in the Balkans and the future of the Stabilization Force
The alliance relationship with Russia
How NATO works with other security and non-governmental organizations
Recent venues for team presentations and discussions have included Newsweek magazine, CNN Chicago, Yale, Columbia and Duke universities, and meetings with various U.S. Senate staffs and members of the Canadian Parliament.
