WHAT IS UNIVERSITY COMMUNICATIONS?
The office is a small marketing/media team consisting of a director,
staff writers, web designer, special events coordinator and a few odds and ends student workers
and interns. The functions of the department include:
- Marketing strategic plan development and direction
- MBU Magazine production
- Website development
- Publication direction (marketing and creative)
- Client relations between MBU and creative outsources
- PR writers and photographers
- Advertising campaign coordination
- Press, convention, public, and college relations
- GSM policy creation and enforcement
- Crisis Communication Coordination
- Special event planning and hosting
- Campus, Fine Arts and Special Events promotions

*The Office may opt to take-on design or photography services for other departments on a project-by-project basis, depending on time, staffing, and available resources.
WHO IS PART OF THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNICATIONS TEAM?
BRYCE CHAPMAN, Community Relations and Special Events
Bryce is the primary department writer and works to communicate MBU messages to the publics. He serves as a primary event host, markets the campus facilities and assists with the box office operations.
LISA HESSEL, Public Relations Manager
Lisa manages the daily public relations activities, including ad buying, print
bids, design, clippings, releases and promotions. She also writes for
web and magazine, takes department photos and acts as an event host for
special events.
LINDA MYERS,
Administrative Assistant for Institutional Advancement
Linda coordinates the MBU Magazine mailing list, campus surveys,
and assists in the proofing of University publications.
BRIAN TURNBULL,
Technical Director and Event Coordinator
Brian oversees the hosting of special events and serves as primary technical director for A/V productions and support services in the Pillsbury Chapel & Dale Williams Fine Arts Center.
Plus various part time staff writers, photographers, and interns.
