Bible Time
You know, reading isn’t very hard to do if you know how, and a lot of us enjoy reading for fun even. So, why is it so hard to read the Bible?
When I was 13 I got a Bible for my birthday. It wasn’t the first Bible that I had the right to call my own, but this Bible was different, because it was the first Bible that I had received as a child of God. When I got this Bible I set a goal for myself to read one chapter of it everyday. However, it didn’t take long before I had failed myself and God. Numerous times since then I had set the same goal for myself, over and over, but I never kept up with it; until now.
For 2 weeks and 2 days now I have read my Bible everyday. And it is amazing. No longer does it come as a burden to take the time to spend in God’s Word searching for Him. But, I have not done this on my own; a good friend encourages me everyday to continue reading, I have people praying for me, and I continue to ask God to help me. I encourage you to find someone to encourage you. And no matter how many times you may fail at something, never give up for good.
Lord, give me understanding and I shall keep Your law. Yes, I will observe it with my whole heart. Psalm 119:34
