within the state of Missouri (the latter applies to seventy-five percent
of Board membership); and if a former trustee, shall have been off
the Board for at least one year. Twenty-five percent of the Board
may be from outside the state of Missouri. Trustees serve three-year
terms and may be re-elected twice.
The nominee should:

- Possess the wisdom, experience and intellectual capabilities to make sound policy decisions and provide leadership in matters of governance.
- Be willing and able through influence, association, energy and determination to attract financial support for the ongoing needs of the University.
- Have the energy and means to contribute their time, talent, and financial resources to further the strategic plan of the University.
- Be a proven leader in the church, denomination, or profession.
Recommendations should include the following information about the candidate:
- Full name, address, and phone number
- Current position of employment
- Education
- Missouri Baptist University affiliations
- Church membership and activities
- Social, civic, and volunteer activities
- Other Board experience
- Personal skills, talents, and abilities that uniquely qualify the candidate for service on the Board

by the committee on Board nominations but such consideration does
not mean that the candidate will be nominated, or if nominated, that
he/she will be elected.
