The Opera Theatre of MBU will present “The Best of….The Merry Wives of Windsor, the opera written by Otto Nicolai, based on the story from Shakespeare’s play of the same name. The performance will consist of some of the best scenes from the well-loved comedy about two women who get revenge on an old fat, vain, boastful, and cowardly knight named Falstaff, who is trying to court them both at the same time. The opera will be in English and will run slightly over an hour. The opera is free and appropriate for families—tho’ young children may not catch all the story. The Saturday presentation is at 7:30 and the Sunday performance at 2:00 in the Pillsbury Chapel.
