The Alumni Association appreciates and recognizes the achievements of Missouri Baptist University graduates at an annual Alumni Awards Ceremony during Homecoming Chapel. For more information about any of the awards listed below, contact the Alumni Office at 314-744-7695 or alumni@mobap.edu.

Distinguished Alumni Award
The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes individuals who have gained unique distinction through their accomplishments and have brought positive change through their leadership.

Criteria:

  • Must be distinguished among his/her peers for contributions made to society that display leadership, responsibility and expertise in his/her field of endeavor.
  • Must have record of community involvement.
  • Must have demonstrated continuing interest in and support of MBU through contribution of time, talent or resources.
  • Must uphold the standards of MBU.
  • Must be able to attend Homecoming Chapel.

 

Service to the University Award
The Service to the University Award is presented to an alumna or alumnus whose volunteer efforts enhance the mission of MBU.

Criteria:

  • Must be a person of integrity and ability who brings dignity and inspiration to the faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of MBU.
  • Must have demonstrated continuing interest in and support of MBU through contribution of time, talent or resources.
  • Must uphold the standards of MBU.
  • Must be able to attend Homecoming Chapel.

 

Outstanding Young Alumnus Award
The Alumni Board recognizes that many young alumni have enjoyed significant achievements in the few years since their graduation, although they may not yet have reached the height of their accomplishments.

Criteria:

  • Must be an MBU graduate under 36 years of age.
  • Must be distinguished among his/her peers for contributions made to society that display leadership, responsibility and expertise in his/her field of endeavor.
  • Must have record of community involvement.
  • Must have demonstrated continuing interest in and support of MBU through contribution of time, talent or resources.
  • Must uphold the standards of MBU.
  • Must be able to attend Homecoming Chapel.

 

Lifetime Achievement Award
Nominees have distinguished themselves with a lifetime of outstanding achievement in all areas of their life academically, professionally, in community service, and by demonstrating outstanding personal achievement.

Criteria:

  • Must be an MBU graduate from at least 25 years ago.
  • Must be distinguished among his/her peers for contributions made to society that display leadership, responsibility and expertise in his/her field of endeavor.
  • Must have record of community involvement.
  • Must have demonstrated continuing interest in and support of MBU through contribution of time, talent or resources.
  • Must uphold the standards of MBU.
  • Must be able to attend Homecoming Chapel.

 

Educator of the Year Award
Since its inception, the Education Division has graduated more alumni than any other division. Nominees display excellence in their hard work, dedication and contribution to the positive development of our youth.

Criteria:

  • Must demonstrate strong ability to foster excellence in education as evidenced by ongoing contributions to the improvement of student learning and the learning environment.
  • Must be distinguished among his/her peers for contributions made to society that display leadership, responsibility and expertise in education.
  • Must have demonstrated continuing interest in and support of MBU through contribution of time, talent or resources.
  • Must uphold the standards of MBU.
  • Must be able to attend Homecoming Chapel.

 

Christian Service Award
The Christian Service Award recognizes a lifetime of exemplary service in a ministry, missions or service setting. The nominee reflects the quality of service and sacrifice to others in keeping with MBU’s mission and values.

Criteria:

  • Must be dedicated to developing the life of Christ in others, cultivating a pursuit of Christ-centered thinking and living a daily lifestyle that honors Him.
  • Must be distinguished among his/her peers for contributions made to society that display leadership, responsibility and expertise in his/her field of endeavor.
  • Must have record of community involvement.
  • Must have demonstrated continuing interest in and support of MBU through contribution of time, talent or resources.
  • Must uphold the standards of MBU.
  • Must be able to attend Homecoming Chapel.

 

Mission in Action Award
The Mission in Action Award recognizes students who have set an example by living out the mission and core values of MBU.

Criteria:

  • Must be a current, fulltime MBU student.
  • Must support and demonstrate the mission and core values of MBU.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be able to attend Homecoming Chapel.
