2007-2008 MBU Baseball Recruiting Class May Be Best One Yet

Missouri Baptist University head baseball coach Eddie Uschold has released his official recruiting class for the 2007-2008 school year.

The class includes 18 transfers and 10 freshmen. Four of the transfers are incoming seniors. Three of those seniors (Derik Drewett, Joel Johnson, Scott Schneider) are Division I transfers and the other (Jose Lozada) was a two-time First Team All-Region shortstop for Benedictine College. Two of the transfers (Brandon Brokaw, Arllen Cruz) are sophomore pitchers from Division I programs. The rest of the class includes eight junior transfers and ten freshmen. Four of the freshmen are considered walk-ons.

"We have had some very good teams here at Missouri Baptist", said Coach Uschold.

"That being said, on paper, this is the most talented group of student-athletes we have assembled in my nine years as the head coach."

Coach Uschold gives Assistant Coach Kenny Graser much of the credit for the strength of the recruiting class that will be joining the baseball team this year. The solid group of core returners combined with what could possibly be the best recruiting class ever, has the coaching staff very excited about the coming season.
