Baseball

Missouri Baptist University Head Baseball Coach Eddie Uschold announced the baseball recruiting class for 06-07. Uschold has signed 25 players to arrive on campus this fall for practice. Included in this class are 10 pitchers, 5 Infielders, 5 outfielders and 4 catchers.

This is the biggest class an Uschold coached team has brought on to campus. “It is a large class”, stated and excited Uschold. “As a staff, we went into the recruiting process wanting to address particular needs. We felt we were very close to a Regional Championship this past season. (Assistant) Coach Graser and (assistant) Coach Bond did an excellent job identifying the types of young men we discussed in our recruiting meetings. We were then able to secure the student athletes that will not only continue our tradition on the field but will also be successful in the classroom and in representing Missouri Baptist University as a whole.”

The class includes 9 freshmen and 16 transfers. “We made a concerted effort to sign a higher number of freshmen that usual” stated Uschold. “We feel as though this is a great mix of transfers and freshmen. This may be the most talented class we have ever recruited from top to bottom. Missouri Baptist University is considered a Top 25 NAIA program and these young will help maintain that status and I believe give us the ability to win the Region V championship” concluded Uschold.
