Women's Basketball

The Lady Spartans have signed Erin McDermott from St. Louis. McDermott is a 6’0” forward who averaged 15.1 points per game and 14 rebounds in her senior year at Fox High School. “Erin gives us another physical and intense post player to our already strong front court. We are hoping that she contributes immediately next season” stated Coach Wingate. Erin is a 3.8 student at Fox and will major in Sports Management at MBU in the fall.

Women's Soccer

MBU Women’s Soccer has added thier newest members to the family. Jessie Hughes signed to play for the Spartans last week. Jessie is from Lee Summit, MO and plays her club soccer for Bayern Munich Soccer Club in Kansas City. Bayern Munich is one of the top Women’s Clubs in KC. Coach Dutchik says “Jessie is a great addition to our program. She has tremendous speed and a great work ethic. Jessie is a great Lady with outstanding Character. She will be counted on right away to lead both on and off the field. We are excited to get her.”
Another local player has signed to play for MBU next year. Cat Prior is from Edwardsville, Ill. She plays her Club soccer for BFC Metro. Coach Dutchik says “Intensity is the word I think of when used to describe Cats play. She never quits and she is always aggressive. That is what attracted us to her. You always know what you get when she steps on the field.” Cat is the second player from BFC to sign with the Lady Spartans.
