Women's Track & Field
The Missouri Baptist University Women's Track and Field Team has signed two more high calibur athletes to take two steps closer toward a National Title.
Tenesha Britton, who will be transferring from Three Rivers Community College, will return to the competitive track scene after a couple years off. Britton was the class Missouri 4A State Champ in both the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles while at Poplar Bluff High School. The 400 meter hurdles will be a new race for Britton, but the MBU coaching staff is confident that she will race to the top of the field in both that and the 100 meter hurdles.
Alona Bryant will complete the one-two punch in the 400 meter hurdles for the Lady Spartans. Bryant, a graduate of Riverview Gardens High School in St. Louis was also all-state in the Class 4A 300 meter hurdles and also in the Sprint Relays. Bryant will red-shirt this year, allowing her time to build strength and speed to compete at an even higher level in the 2005-2006 season.

Women's Track & Field
The Missouri Baptist University Women's Track & Field Program added some big keys to building a Championship program this week with the signing of three of their top recruits: Meosha Hubbard, Peta-Gaye Williams, and Keneisha Creary.
Meosha Hubbard, of San Antonio, Texas, has been away from the competitive Track & Field arena for a couple years, but looks to once again become one of the best in the world in the Long Jump. In 2000, Hubbard finished fourth in the Olympic Trials for the long jump, jumping 6.84 meters. She edged out St. Louis track hero Jackie Joyner-Kersey who finished sixth. Marion Jones won that event.
Head Coach Vincent Bingham said of Meosha, "Her leadership brought Life University to two NAIA National Championships, and hopefully she can lead this team in the same direction."
The signing of Peta-Gaye Williams and Keneisha Creary adds a 1-2 punch in the Multi-events and Sprint Relays and opens the door for the MBU Women's Track Program to add the International flavor that it will take to win an NAIA National Championship.
Creary bosts Personal Records of 5'8" in the High Jump, 12.01 in the 100 Meters, and 36.42 meters in the Discus. Williams has Personal Records of 12.23 in the 100 Meters, 36.91 meters in the Discus, and 12.62 meters in the Shot Put.
The MBU Women's Track Program is still signing athletes for its first Women's Track season, but has already established a strong foundation of athletes to allow them to contend for the NAIA National Title.

Men's Soccer
The Missouri Baptist University Men’s soccer program is excited to announce two more signings for the program. Shawn Wrinkle comes to MBU from a Southeast Missouri soccer power, Poplar Bluff. While at Poplar Bluff Shawn was the team Captain, 1st team all conference and 1st team all region. Shawn was also rated as one of the top seniors in the state. Coach Embick says “We are very pleased to get a player like Shawn. He is a good athlete with some size and looks to add depth to the back line. We know that Shawn was very well coached in high school and should have no trouble fitting in.”
Another local signing for the program is Nathan Palmer. Nathan joins the Missouri Baptist University program after taking a couple years off. Coach Embick says ”Nathan is a goalie that is athletic and will bring great competition the position. We are excited about the possibilities that Nathan will bring to the team.”
