Women’s Track & Field
The Missouri Baptist University Women's Track & Field Team has signed its first athlete for the 2004-'05 season. Ashley Harris, a senior at Riverview Gardens High School in St. Louis, signed her letter of intent at MBU on Monday, March 22. Ashley will compete in the triple jump and the long jump for the Lady Spartans. Her best marks are 37'11" and 17'10" feet respectively. She is a two time state qualifier in the triple jump, taking seventh place her sophomore year. Among receiving other awards, she has also been named Second Team Suburban All-Conference for her jumps.
"Ashley will be an impact player for us her first year," MBU Head Coach Vince Bingham said. "She is a great first recruit with a lot of potential to be an All-American as a freshman."
Ashley will join her brother Woodrow at Missouri Baptist University. Woodrow is a junior All-American wrestler for the Spartans.

Women’s Basketball
The Missouri Baptist University Women’s Basketball program has announced the signing of Holly Tichy of Cedar Hill, MO. Holly is a 2002 graduate of Northwest High School and spent the past two years at Jefferson College. The 6’1” junior averaged 9.8 points a game and 7.3 rebounds a game at Jefferson College.
“We are excited to have Holly” said Head Coach Danny Wingate. “She is an addition to the puzzle that we have been missing. She will make us a better team and her college experience is a big plus. We are excited to have her.”

Men’s Soccer
Missouri Baptist University Soccer gets another talented local player! Michael Benfatto comes to Mobap from Troy Missouri. Michael had 18 goals and 14 assists while at Troy. Coach Embick says “he looks forward to having Benfatto join the team, and says that he is a hard worker and will be an asset to an already talented team.” And that his great attitude and desire is something that we look for in a player.”
