Head Coach Ray Farrell

Ray Farrell is entering his second season as the Head Basketball Coach at Missouri Baptist University. Following a 6-25 season; he is committed to rebuilding the team and developing a successful basketball program. Prior to Missouri Baptist University, Ray served as the assistant basketball coach to the legendary Herb Magee at Philadelphia University. During his three years at Philadelphia, Ray was fortunate to assist Herb Magee in winning his 800th game and his 829th game, which made him the all-time leader in wins in the history of NCAA Division II Basketball. Ray has been a head basketball coach at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas and at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he was the first basketball coach in the history of the school. As an assistant basketball coach, he has had the opportunity to learn the game while working under great coaches such as Rollie Massimino(UNLV and Cleveland State), Jay Wright(Villanova), Mike Neer(University of Rochester), and Dave Bliss(SMU).

Ray is passionate about his family, basketball, and sharing Jesus Christ through athletics. He and his wife, Ana Paula, have three children, Marcello, Gabriella, and Mauricio. Ray received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education at West Chester University and his Master of Science Degree in Physical Education at East Texas State University.

Assistant Coach Nick Graham

Nick is entering his first season with Missouri Baptist University and he is serving as the coordinator of recruiting and academic development, as well as conducting individual workouts. Prior to Missouri Baptist, Nick coached on the high school level in Denver and he traveled with Athletes in Action on a tour of the Far East. His knowledge of the game and his desire to share Christ through basketball will be vital to the development of MBU Basketball.

Nick is a native of Dallas, Texas and he played his college basketball at Washington State University, where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology. He is a member of a basketball family; his father, Paul, is an assistant basketball coach at Georgia State University and his sister Brittany is a member of the Georgia State Women’s Team, while his mother Vanessa is a basketball mom.

Graduate Assistant Coach Leon Dales, III

Leon is entering his second season as the graduate assistant at Missouri Baptist University and he is responsible for scouting opponents, conducting individual workouts, coaching the junior varsity program, and recruiting. His passion for the game and his work ethic are keys to the success of the MBU basketball program. In addition to MBU, Leon has been a coach at Villanova University basketball camps and he assisted Coach Jay Wright in training the USA Basketball Team in preparation for the 2007 Pan American Games.

Leon is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and he played his college basketball at Neumann College in Philadelphia, where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sport Management. He is currently pursuing an MBA degree at Missouri Baptist University.
