MBU Baseball Breaks into NAIA Top 20

The Missouri Baptist University baseball team has finally broken into the NAIA Top 20 at the 20th spot, according to the NAIA ratings released April 2nd. The Spartans, 19-7 overall (4-0 in the AMC), spent the previous week receiving votes, but had fallen out of the Top 25. Their highest previous ranking this season was 21. MBU helped secure their status in the NAIA, and atop Region V, with a double header sweep of Region V foe Lindenwood University on Wednesday.

Also this week, MBU's Price Kendall, a junior second baseman from Vacaville, Calif., received American Midwest Conference Player of the Week honors. Kendall becomes the second Spartan to earn the honor this season. Brandon Patek was named AMC Player of the Week on March 17th. Kendall led the Spartan offensive attack in a four-game AMC sweep of Harris-Stowe State University over the weekend. Kendall was 5-for-11 at the plate for a .455 average. He also scored four runs, posted three runs batted in, and was a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen bases.

The Spartans will return to AMC action this weekend with double headers at McKendree University on Friday and Saturday.
