Spartan Baseball Picks up Two Wins
The 21st ranked Missouri Baptist University baseball team picked up two wins in a double header against Central Methodist University on Saturday. The Spartans, who trailed 8-2 after 2 innings, rallied bake to win the first game 15-10. Brandon Patek, Scott Talbert, and Joel Johnson hit three back-to-back homeruns for the Spartans in the third inning. Johnson finished the game 3 for 3 with 4 runs and 3 RBI. Derik Drewett got the win for the Spartans.
MBU crushed CMU 17-0 in the second game. Brandon Patek hit a grandslam for MBU. Francisco Vega batted 3 for 3 with 3 RBI. Aaron Byington got the win for the Spartans, pitching 4 innings and allowing only 3 hits.
The Spartans will be on the road again on Tuesday, as they travel to Marshall, Missouri to take on the Missouri Valley College Vikings.
