Baseball Opens Season With a Loss to #8 Cumberland
The Missouri Baptist University baseball team (0-1) opened its season with a 10-8 loss to NAIA 8th ranked Cumberland University (Lebanon, Tenn.). The Spartan offensive attack was led by Joel Johnson (3-5, 1 RBI), and Scott Talbert and Francisco Vega who each hit a three-run homerun.
The Spartans will return to the field Friday when they face Union University in a double-header at Lambuth University. The game was moved from its original site on Union's campus due to last week's tremendous tornado damage to the Union University campus.
