Men's Basketball Wins Second in a Row

The MBU men's basketball team won its second game in a row Saturday afternoon, when the Spartans defeated the Harris-Stowe Hornets 62-57 at home. Brandon Bishop led the Spartans with 20 points and six rebounds, and Bret Wilson added 19 points. The Spartans improve to 3-3 in the American Midwest Conference, 5-17 overall. The Spartans will return to AMC play on Thursday, when they travel to the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Earlier Saturday afternoon, the Lady Spartans lost to Harris-Stowe 70-62. Julie Leach led the Lady Spartans with 21 points and 14 rebounds. April Redus added 17 points (4 for 9 from behind the arc), and Summer McCaughley chipped in 13 points. MBU drops to 3-3 in the AMC, 8-11 overall. The Lady Spartans will travel to the University of Illinois-Springfield for more AMC action on Tuesday night.
