Spartan Wrestlers Lose to #2 McKendree

The #18-ranked Spartan Wrestling team suffered their second dual meet loss of the season at home against the NAIA #2 –ranked Bearcats of McKendree University Wednesday night. The Spartans faired well throughout the contest but were unable to solidify a win and fell to the Bearcats by a score of 36-12.

MBU Senior Michael Aitch (Kirkwood, Mo.) recorded a win, in the opening contest of the night (125-pound weight class), over McKendree’s A.J. Ciccarelli by way of pinfall in the second period. Also recording a victory for the Spartans was Junior Matt Collum (Naperville, Ill./Oklahoma State University), also by pinfall, in the 157-pound class.

Up next for the Spartans is the Newman University Jet Open in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday, December 8th. 2007. The next home meet for Missouri Baptist is on Tuesday, January 21st, 2008 against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville at 7 PM.
