MBU Baseball Player Named NAIA Preseason All-American

Brandon Patek, an outfielder on the Spartan baseball squad, has been named to the NAIA 2008 Preseason All-America team.

Patek, a senior from Festus, batted .427, belted 14 home runs and drove in 53 runs in 2007 (his junior season), earning him a place on the 2007 NAIA All-America second team. Patek is one of only 15 players in the nation to be named to the Pre-Season All-America team.

The Spartans won the American Midwest Conference Regular Season and Post-Season Tournament in 2007, and look to advance even further in 2008. They will open the 2008 season on February 15th at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.
