Bowling Earns 5th in National Rankings
After a strong start to the 2007-2008 season, The MBU men's bowling team has received a 5th place national ranking. This is MBU's highest ranking ever in the program's four five years of existence. Here's the complete Top-Ten ranking:
1. Lindenwood University
2. Purdue University
3. Saginaw Valley State University
4. William Patterson University
5. Missouri Baptist University
6. Calumet College of St. Joseph
7. St. John’s University
8. Wichita State University
9. Newman University
10. Florida State University
The Missouri Baptist men’s bowling team was in competition this week in Atlanta, GA for the Brunswick Southern Classic bowling tournament. This prestigious, Tier-1 event drew twenty-six teams from all over the nation and represents the first major tournament of the 2007-08 season.
The Spartans had a great run at this year’s event by finishing third. Although all team members performed well, Chris Pickett stood out from the crowd in his individual performance by making the All-Tournament team and finishing second overall.
