Men's Soccer Advances in Post-Season Play
The Missouri Baptist University men's soccer team avenged an earlier season loss to Columbia College in exciting fashion Tuesday night. The Spartans and Cougars ended regulation tied at 3-3. At the end of the extra period, the score remain tied. The decision came down to penalty kicks, with MBU triumphing 3-1.
The Spartans will host the University of Illinois-Springfield on Thursday in the Championship game of the American Midwest Conference Region Play-In Tournament. The winner will advance to the NAIA Region V Play-In Tournament, which begins on November 3rd. McKendree College, the AMC Regular Season Champions, received an automatic berth to the Region V Tournament.
Women's Soccer- The Lady Spartans' season came to an end Monday night, as they lost to Hannibal-LaGrange College 2-0 in the semi-final match of the Region Play-In. The Lady Spartans went 8-11 (2-2 in the AMC) for the year.
Women's Volleyball- The Lady Spartans handled the Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans easily Tuesday night, winning 30-11, 30-11, 30-22. With tonight's win, the Lady Spartans secured a second place finish in the AMC. They will host the University of Illinois-Springfield at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night in their final regular season match.
