MBU Baseball Draws Number 2 Seed at Region V Tournament
The Missouri Baptist University Spartan Baseball Team has drawn the number two seed at the upcoming double elimination NAIA Region V Tournament hosted at Lindenwood University. The Spartans will open up Region play on Wednesday, May 9th at 4:00 pm versus the number five seed, Avila University (MO). If MBU wins their first round game they will play again on May 10th at 7:30 pm against the winner of the William Jewell College (#3) and William Woods University (#4) game. MBU will have to win out in Region play to advance to the Super Regional Tournament. MBU and their Skipper, AMC Coach of the Year Eddie Uschold, are in the hunt for their first NAIA World Series appearance. MBU finished the season with a 34-17 record and will be led by AMC Pitcher of the Year, Matt Murray. The Spartans were both regular season and post season American Midwest Conference Champions. Lindenwood not only has home field advantage throughout the tournament, but they have also been seeded number one through the Region V Tournament.
Updates from the Spartans trip to the Region V Tournament can be followed on the MBU Athletic website.
