MBU Tennis Wins in Exciting Fashion
The MBU Men Tennis team defeated Webster University 5-4 in a very exciting match. Trailing 3-4 with the last two matches on the court, Kurtis Davis defeated his opponent 10-7 in a super-tie-breaker and Denian Costa won 10-5 in his super-tie-breaker giving the Spartans the 5-4 match victory. Chris Cozad remains undefeated in both singles and doubles' matches during his dual match season. MBU had an outstanding victory at # 3 doubles with Kurtis Davis and Cale Riggs with an 8-4 victory.
The MBU Women’s team won three out of four of their matches in their tennis exhibition. Kelsey Brendell and Katie Hall remain undefeated as a doubles' team. Both Kelsey and Katie won their singles' matches. The MBU women at this time are playing exhibition tennis because they only have four players in the first year of competition. Things are looking very good for a full women's squad next year.
MBU will have two more matches for both men and women. This Thursday MBU will play Fontbonne University at Shaw Park at 5:30. Saturday MBU will play Lewis and Clark College at Lewis and Clark at 10:00 am.
