Baseball Wins AMC Regular Season Title

The MBU Baseball team made it interesting , but in the end they had a 2007 regular season conference banner to hang. It took the Spartans until the last series of the season to boast themselves as the 2007 American Midwest Conference Regular Season Champions. With a four game split at Hannibal LaGrange College, MBU was forced to take care of business in the second game of a rainout series against William Woods University. MBU dropped the first game to WWU 8-6 and were forced to settle business on the field of HLG. MBU failed to do so. However, the Spartans easily won the conference pennant with a convincing 10-1 victory over William Woods on make up day.

The Spartans are 31-16 on the season and 12-6 in AMC play. The Spartans will now host the AMC tournament as the number one seed and will play HLG on May 2nd at 11:00 am. MBU has to finish in the top two out of four teams in tourney play on their home turf to receive the automatic invitation to the Region V Tournament.
