Baseball Wins AMC Regular Season Title (April 30, 2007)
The MBU Baseball team made it interesting , but in the end they had a 2007 regular season conference banner to hang. It took the Spartans until the last series of the season to boast themselves as the 2007 American Midwest Conference Regular Season Champions. With a four game split at Hannibal LaGrange College, MBU was forced to take care of business in the second game of a rainout series against William Woods University. Women's Golf, Dejsubha, Wins Region V Tournament; Qualifies for NAIA National Tourney (April 27, 2007)
The MBU Women’s Golf team took seventh place at the 2007 Region V Tournament hosted by McKendree College. MBU’s Prank Dejsubha won the Regional Tournament with scores of 73 and 85 for a total of 158. With her victory, Dejsubha, receives a berth to the NAIA National Championship in San Diego, California. Dejsubha was also named to the 2007 AMC All-Conference Team. Last year’s Regional winner, MBU’s Jennifer Lotz, shot 90 and 80 for a 170 total to finish third at this year’s Region Tournament. The MBU Men’s Golf team competed at host McKendree College in the American Midwest Conference Championship in Carlyle, IL at Governor's Run Golf Club April 20th and 21st. After having a very slow start to the spring season, the Spartan Mens Golf Team made a strong run towards year end and captured the 2007 American Midwest Conference Championship. A strong performance by all players on the Spartans squad made this years win convincing. Bowling concludes Season Fifth at National Tournament (April 23, 2007)
The MBU Bowling team recently competed in the 2007 Intercollegiate Team Championships. This event saw the top 16 teams in the nation come together in Wichita, Kansas for a torturous three day event where athletes would bowl for an average of 10 hours per day. Missouri Baptist went into the competition ranked 14th in the nation and would bowl against such perennial powerhouse programs as Lindenwood University, Florida State University, Pikeville College, Saginaw Valley, and the ever present and number one team in the nation, the Shockers of Wichita State University. Tennis Teams Conclude Inaugural Season (April 23, 2007)
The MBU Men’s Tennis team lost their final match of the season to Lewis and Clark College 8-1. The only victory on the night for MBU was at # 1 singles by Chris Cozad who remained undefeated. The Spartans were 9-5 in their first year of competition The MBU Women’s Tennis team won four of their six matches played on the season. MBU's Kelsey Brendell and Katie Hall were undefeated at # 1 doubles.…

Men's Volleyball Finishes Third at NAIA National Invitational Tournament (April 18, 2007)
The Missouri Baptist University Men’s Volleyball team completed their season on April 13th at the NAIA National Invitational Tournament in Riverside, CA with a 20-30, 19-30, 23-30 loss at the hands of eventual national champions, California Baptist University. The Spartans lost a three game match to Park University (MO) in pool play before knocking off Missouri Valley College in four games to advance into the semi-final against CBU. Ivan Lugonja was named to the All-Tournament team and the team finished 18-9 on the season. The team will return each player from this year’s squad for next season.…

MBU Tennis Wins in Exciting Fashion (April 18, 2007)
The MBU Men Tennis team defeated Webster University 5-4 in a very exciting match. Trailing 3-4 with the last two matches on the court, Kurtis Davis defeated his opponent 10-7 in a super-tie-breaker and Denian Costa won 10-5 in his super-tie-breaker giving the Spartans the 5-4 match victory. Chris Cozad remains undefeated in both singles and doubles' matches during his dual match season. MBU had an outstanding victory at # 3 doubles with Kurtis Davis and Cale Riggs with an 8-4 victory. Track Underclassmen Lead the Way for Spartans (April 3, 2007)
This past weekend the Missouri Baptist Track and Field team competed at the Washington University Invite. The Spartan youngsters led the way with three freshmen and a sophomore garnering all five of the MBU individual event wins. Having the busiest couple of days of anyone in the meet, freshman LaShayla Bell was the number two collegian in the heptathlon scoring 4097 points, won the 100 meter hurdles in 14.77 seconds, won the 400 meter hurdles in 65.15 seconds, and ran a leg on the victorious 4x400 meter relay team. Men's Volleyball Earns Trip to NAIA National Tournament (April 2, 2007)
The MBU Men’s Volleyball team earned the automatic bid to the NAIA National Invitational Tournament this past weekend by winning the MAMVIC East Conference Tournament in Davenport, Iowa . The Spartans knocked off host St. Ambrose University (IA) in three games 34-32, 30-21, 30-20 in the semi-finals before outlasting Cardinal Stritch University (WI) 30-18, 30-18, 24-30, 26-30, 15-8 in the finals. MBU will be the four seed in next week’s National Championship in Riverside, CA and those games will be broadcast via the internet at www.calbaptist.edu.
