Wrestling Hosts First Open of the Year

The Missouri Baptist University Wrestling Team faired well at the MBU Open Wrestling Tournament. The Spartans were able to have six more wrestlers meet national qualification standards. Taking championships were Michael Aitch at 125, Josh Bonomo at 133, Nicholas Lobosco 141, Gerald Harris 157, and Ike Okenwa 197. Joe Johnson was second at heavyweight. Five of these wrestlers hail from the Show-Me State (MO) with Josh Bonomo via Pennsylvania. The MBU Spartan Wrestling Team has had a total of 11 wrestlers qualify for the national tournament, the most in the programs history.

The Spartans will next compete at the Eastern Regional Tournament at Lindenwood University February 16th.
