MBU Bowling Wins First Tournament
The Missouri Baptist University Bowling team achieved its first win in its young program. The Brickyard Classic in Indianapolis, IN held its 12th Annual tournament with a field of 25 teams. The MBU men’s team began the tournament in 3rd place after the first game. In the second game the Spartans took over the tournament lead and never looked back. On the second day of competition, the team enjoyed a comfortable lead but, had to complete a grueling 16-game Baker format. Led by team captain and overall All-Tournament leader Corey Young, the MBU Spartans erased any doubt of their dominance in this tournament by beating the next closest team, Western Illinois University, by over 500 pins. The win underscores the hard work and determination of the bowling program and will catapult the Spartans into the top 5 in the National College Bowling rankings.
