CC Men Roll at Louisville Classic

The MBU Cross Country squad traveled to Kentucky this weekend to compete in the Lousville Classic. MBU's men had a huge meet beating seven teams that were ranked in the top 30 in the nation, including the 11th and 12th ranked squads. The front running duo of Vincent Morogah and Denis-Bull Olinga once again led the charge. Their times of 25:09 and 25:11 for the 8k course were good enough for 33rd and 34th place overall in the 327 person field. Competing against 36 top NCAA Division I and II, and NAIA teams, the Spartans finished 17th overall with 491 points. The hard charging Kenneth Kibii and Timothy Makubuya continue to build on their early season success as they move up the national rankings, running great times of 26:09 and 26:30 respectively. Completing a solid team score, Pat Anderson secured MBU's strong showing, and Chad Hammontree and Sean Swapp continued to improve on their seasons bests as well. Freshman Meagan Hudson solidified her standing as a top contender at regionals with her fine 19:40 performance in the women's 5k race. The Spartans look to continue their winning ways this coming weekend at the SIU-Edwardsville Border Wars Invitational competing against the best teams in the Midwest region.
