CC Impressive at Border Wars Invite

The MBU cross country team crossed the river to compete at the SIU-Edwardsville Border Wars Saturday. The Border Wars is one of the biggest meets in the area with over 30 teams representing the NAIA, NCAA Division I, II, III and Junior Colleges. Leading the way for the men was Denis-Bull Olinga. Olinga finished 4th out of more than 300 athletes in 25:12. Turning in their 2nd impressive performance in a row, Kenneth Kibii and Tim Makubuya were MBU's next finishers running 26:05 and 26:46 on the tough 8km course. Rounding out the team scoring for the Spartan men were Pat Anderson and Chad Hammontree. MBU's men finished 18th overall, and were the number 2 NAIA squad at the meet. The MBU women were once again led by freshman Meagan Hudson. Hudson continued her string of running under 20 minutes on the 5km course despite battling a virus. Joining Hudson, Adrienne Lampasi ran a personal best and showed over a minute improvement at the Border Wars over last season.

The Spartans next look to the American Midwest Conference Championships at William Woods University on Saturday, October 21st.
