Cross Country Rolls at Panther Open
The MBU Cross Country team traveled to Eastern Illinois University this weekend to compete in the Panther Open. The men had a great performance finishing 4th, narrowly missing Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri State for 2nd. The Spartans were led by All American Denis-Bull Olinga. Olinga was the meet champion running an outstanding time of 25:03 for the 8 kilometer course. Joining Olinga at the front of the pack was Vincent Morogah. Morogah ended up in 3rd place, less than 10 seconds back. MBU’s men also had strong performances from Kenneth Kibii and Timothy Makubuya, who both ran personal bests. Chad Hammontree and Pat Anderson rounded out the field for the Spartans. Meagan Hudson was the lone MBU woman. Hudson ran a strong race to finish 27th in 19:34 for the 5 kilometer race. Hudson finished 2nd among NAIA competitors.
The MBU cross country team next competes on September 30th in Louisville, Kentucky.
