Women's Volleyball Opens Season with Easy Win

The # 6 ranked Missouri Baptist University Lady Spartans Volleyball team opened up the 2006 season with a convincing 30-22, 30-24, 30-25 victory over rival Lindenwood University Tuesday night. Setter Shannan Swiney dished out 47 assists, while Ana Mercado had 26 of those kills for MBU. Junior transfer Randi Tyler had nine kills and 11 blocks to go with Tracey Abell’s 19 digs.

MBU (1-0) travels to NCAA Div. II Quincy University (1-3) tonight for another non-conference match. The match is slated for 7:00 pm.
