Women's Basketball Falls to Oklahoma City at NAIA Tourney

The Lady Spartans lost 78-46 to Oklahoma City University in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament. MBU finishes the year with a 25-8 record.

OCU, who is 32-3 overall, received a number one seed in their bracket. They were ranked number three in the last NAIA national polls. OCU received an automatic bid into the tournament by winning the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship. OCU has played in the last seven National Title games.

MBU was making their first appearance in the National Tournament. MBU entered the tournament with a 25-7 overall record. MBU garnered an at large invitation to the tournament after going 12-2 in the American Midwest Conference and winning the regular season conference title. MBU received the number eight seed in their bracket.

The Lady Spartans were led by the nation's second leading scorer and two time NAIA All-American, LaTrice McMichel. McMichel, poured in 23 points in the lose and Angela Cerrito chipped in 15 points.
