Women's Indoor Track & Field Wins 2006 NAIA National Championship

The 41st Annual Men's and 26th Annual Women's NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships concluded Saturday and the MBU Lady Spartans claimed the National Title. This is the first ever National Championship in the history of a rich tradition of MBU Athletics.

Missouri Baptist University freshman Nadina Marsh won the women's pentathlon, setting a new meet record by accumulating 3,893 overall points. Marsh won or tied for first place in three of the five events, setting a new pentathlon meet record in the long jump at 5.96 meters (19' 6.75''). MBU’s Michael Guesbeth placed fourth in Weight Throw in the men’s division and Jerome Foster jumped 6'11.50 inches to finish third in the Men's High Jump. In all, MBU will boast of six individual national champions, six national records, and 32 All-Americans.

MBU's Vince Bingham was named both the Region V Coach of the Year and the NAIA National Coach of the Year.
