Athletics Set to Sell Cardinals Major League Baseball Tickets (March 30, 2006)
Missouri Baptist University Department of Athletics is pleased to partner with the St. Louis Cardinals in selling tickets for one game at the inaugural season at the new Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis. Tickets will go on sale immediately through the MBU Athletics Office. The game is set for Friday September 1st, 2006 verse National League opponent, Pittsburgh Pirates. Game time is scheduled for 7:10 PM Central Standard Time. Seat locations are in the Outfield Terrace Box and are $28.00 each. Baseball's Uschold Breaks MBU's All Time Win Total (March 29, 2006)
Missouri Baptist University Head Baseball Coach, Eddie Uschold, became the Spartans all time win leader at the helm of the Baseball program. Uschold tied the old mark of 251 career wins set in 1991 by Coach Penning in a 4-3 win against Ashord University on March 25th. Uschold then broke the all time wins total later that day with a 6-1 victory over Ashord in game two of the double header. Coach Uschold’s MBU record stands at 252-138-1 since his arrival in 2000. Athletics to Host MBU Cheer Tryouts (March 25, 2006)
The Lady Spartan Cheerleading team will be hosting cheer tryouts in MBU’s gymnasium. The dates for the tryouts are Friday April, 28th from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm and Saturday, April 29th from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Women's Indoor Track & Field Wins 2006 NAIA National Championship (March 10, 2006)
The 41st Annual Men's and 26th Annual Women's NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships concluded Saturday and the MBU Lady Spartans claimed the National Title. This is the first ever National Championship in the history of a rich tradition of MBU Athletics. Missouri Baptist University freshman Nadina Marsh won the women's pentathlon, setting a new meet record by accumulating 3,893 overall points. Marsh won or tied for first place in three of the five events, setting a new pentathlon meet record in the long jump at 5.96 meters (19' 6.75''). Women's Basketball Falls to Oklahoma City at NAIA Tourney (March 8, 2006)
The Lady Spartans lost 78-46 to Oklahoma City University in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament. MBU finishes the year with a 25-8 record. OCU, who is 32-3 overall, received a number one seed in their bracket. They were ranked number three in the last NAIA national polls. OCU received an automatic bid into the tournament by winning the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship. OCU has played in the last seven National Title games. Women's Basketball Concludes Season as AMC Champs (March 3, 2006)
The Lady Spartans dropped their season finale in a heartbreaker to McKendree College 50-48 in the AMC Tournament Championship game. MBU falls to 25-7 overall. The Lady Spartans have received an at large bid to the NAIA National Tournament. MBU is ranked 28th in the nation. The tournament will host 32 teams in all. The seedings will not be released until March 8th. The tournament will start March 15th in Jackson, TN. MBU can boast of being the American Midwest Conference Champions with a conference mark of 12-2. MBU went into their final game riding a ten game winning streak.…

Men's Basketball Concludes Season With 23-9 Record (March 3, 2006)
The Spartans concluded their season Thursday night falling at University of Illinois Springfield 101-89. The Spartans finish out the season with a 23-9 record. MBU finished fourth in the American Midwest Conference race with a record of 8-4. The Spartans hosted the first round of the conference tournament and pulled out a 59-56 win over the fifth seeded Trojans from Hannibal LaGrange College. MBU then traveled to top seeded UIS, where they have lost once before. MBU also fell to UIS at home in regular season action 70-65. Men's Basketball Pulls Out a Victory Over HLG (March 1, 2006)
The Spartans survived a last second scare from the Trojans of Hannibal LaGrange College on Tuesday escaping with a 59-56 victory in the first round of the American Midwest Conference Tournament. MBU entered the contest with home court advantage as the number four seed and HLG was the number five seed. MBU led by as many as eight points in the second half, but the Trojans hung around and eventually tied the score. MBU took a three point lead with 20 seconds remaining in the game.
